The Luxury The Ritz-Carlton New York Battery Park exudes an understated contemporary elegance befitting the financial capital of the world, but its Wall Street adjacency doesn’t mean it’s just for business travelers. The AAA five-diamond waterfront hotel’s notable neighbors include the National Museum of the American Indian, the Skyscraper Museum, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the New York Stock Exchange, and Lady Liberty, who celebrates her 125th year in 2011.

The Value Stay two nights in a deluxe room, part of the hotel’s value-filled “Summer in the Park” package (available through October 16), which also includes one full-day bike rental for two, a gourmet picnic-basket lunch, a 90-minute boat excursion with Manhattan by Sail, and daily continental breakfast at the hotel’s 2West Restaurant. Rates start at $395/night for two, about $100 more than current summer rates for a deluxe guest room – but the package extras add up to significant savings: You’d be paying an additional $350 or more if you booked them a la carte.

The Catch Minimum two-night stay required. Rates for statue-view rooms (complete with telescopes) rise to $455/night.
