Sweden is pricey – it consistently ranks 14th on the list of the top 20 most expensive countries worldwide (Moscow takes first place). That said, what you pay for is superb quality and fresh modern amenities (even budget properties often have gyms and top-quality concierges). Though hotels tend to be pricier in the cosmopolitan cities of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, rooms can be scored for well below $200. Even the most basic of accommodations provide you with contemporary rooms and water so clean you drink right from the bathroom tap!
