You go to Times Square for the spectacle — for flashing lights, larger-than-life screens, and frenetic energy. And with the addition of three new attractions this fall, there’s going to be even more reason to visit (or re-visit) the ever-evolving, LED heart of New York City. Here’s the scoop on the experiences everyone will be gawking at this season.
NFL Experience
Pro football fans will transform into players in this interactive, jumbotron-lined space where you can test your knowledge of your favorite team (or all 32) on touchscreen stations, suit up through a digital mirror, and play a game with a holographic coach on the sidelines. You can also throw footballs that measure your skills, catch a 4D film, and even celebrate a Super Bowl victory.
Opening: November
Cost: $39 per person
Location: 7th Ave at corner of 47th St.
National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey
You’ll plunge deep into the Pacific Ocean and interact with virtual sea life during a 90-minute walk through in this digital landscape. Imagine a humpback whale or great white shark swimming right alongside you, interacting with a bioluminescent coral reef, and (because this is National Geographic) learning a little something along the way.
Opening: October 6
Cost: Adults $39.50, Senior $36.50, Children 12 and under $32.50
Location: 226 West 44th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue
Opry City Stage
A little piece of Nashville and its Grand Ole Opry is coming to Midtown with this four-level, 27,000-square-foot space — bringing plenty of live music and Southern eats along with it. In addition to a bar, restaurant, and stages, there will also be a listening room and simulcast performances from the Opry House.
Opening: October soft open, fully open in November
Cost: Pricing structure to be determined
Location: Broadway between West 48th and 49th Streets
