Editor's Update: This deal from March 2014 has unfortunately expired. However, you can always check the Wolcott Hotel's website for current offers. And don't forget to read on below for our price comparisons, so you can calculate how much you're saving off of standard rates.
We've always said that hotel anniversaries (along with new openings and renovations) are opportune occasions for finding great deals – and the Wolcott Hotel's 110th birthday promotion nicely fits the bill. For its anniversary this month, the historic Beaux-Arts hotel in New York City is offering a rate of $110 per night for stays from Sunday through Thursdays for the entire year. That's compared to standard rates of up to $260 in April and through the summer (though some rooms still go for $180 or $200 during the spring).
The promotion is good for standard queen or twin rooms, but you can upgrade to a junior suite with a parlor (+$10) or a two-bedroom "triple room" (+$40). All rates include daily breakfast consisting of coffee and muffins in the ornate lobby. Guests at the hotel also enjoy 20 percent off classes at the nearby Yoga Union and 10 percent off rentals from Sid's Bikes.
Besides the fact that there's no minimum stay with this offer, the hotel also gets points for making plenty of rooms available for the promotion. As of this morning, we found rooms for all of this month, select days in April and May, and most of June through November available, with the exception of a few weeks in September. If you have your heart set on visiting during the holidays, act fast – availability is limited in December.
To book, make reservations from the anniversary page by March 31st. Also good to know: taxes, which aren't included, are approximately an additional $20 per night.
