New York City’s annual Hotel Week started in 2011 with a simple premise: Offer great hotels for $100, $200, or $300 per night -- in many cases, a substantial savings off typical rates. It’ll be happening again this year in January, but, before that, Los Angeles travelers will get their own opportunity to save on some excellent hotels.
The inaugural L.A. Hotel Week kicks off on November 29 and runs though December 14, and has similar parameters as the NYC version: hotel rooms for prime west coast properties will be discounted to $200 or $300 per night, down from averages rates that often top $500.
Some of our favorites on the list that offer good savings include the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills -- the ultra-retro hotel with a top-notch pool bar. And there’s the Andaz West Hollywood, the Sunset Strip stunner with a rooftop pool and sun deck. Mr. c Beverly Hills, the tony boutique hotel whose “C” presumably stands for Cipriani; the beloved restaurant that anchors this LA hotspot. And The Huntley Hotel, situated near the beach in Santa Monica, just a block from the city’s Third Street Promenade.
