Direct Air just announced that it is adding even more nonstop flights to one of America’s favorite family destinations, Myrtle Beach – and rates start from as little as $99 one-way. Never heard of this Myrtle Beach-based airline? Direct Air’s flights are public charters operated by XTRA Airways, USA Jet, and Vision Airlines – so it’s unlikely that you’ll see it pop up in an airfare search on most major websites. Although Direct Air’s route network and flight schedules aren’t as robust as that of other domestic carriers, its flights are often significantly less pricey.

THE VALUE: Many of these flights take off from smaller hubs that offer a handful of airline options so prices are much higher than major cities. Direct Air’s rates are easily $150-$250 less than competitors, plus you get the luxury of flying nonstop.

THE CATCH: Some flights are seasonal, and baggage charges apply.
