For spectacular views and outdoor pursuits, the Grand Canyon is hard to beat. Sedona’s secluded Enchantment Resort offers two unique ways to see the natural wonder with new packages that add in a dose of luxury to the experience.
With the Grand Canyon by Trail package, guests enjoy one day of sightseeing by mini-coach (seats 10) courtesy of Pink Jeep Tours. Start with a drive through nearby Oak Creek Canyon and Flagstaff’s Ponderosa Pine Forest before lunch at El Tovar lodge and a tour on the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. The return trip includes a stop at the Navajo Indian Reservation.
For those looking to up the “wow” factor, the Grand Canyon by Air package takes guests to soaring heights and plunging depths. Board a five-passenger Cessna plane from Sedona Airport to the Grand Canyon, then hop on a helicopter to descend 3,200 feet to the canyon basin. A rafting excursion on the Colorado River and return helicopter trip round out the morning, topped off by a barbecue lunch on the canyon rim. In the afternoon, there’s a choice between a short hike and venturing out onto the glass-bottomed Grand Canyon Skywalk ($33 extra per person).
Both packages are based on three-night stays at Enchantment Resort and include breakfast daily. Pricing for two people starts at $1,447 for the Trail package and $1,942 for the Air package – a potential savings of 15 percent off a la carte rates.
