Last month The Langham, Chicago launched a monthly Nickel and Dime Anniversary Tea to commemorate the 149th birthday of the original London hotel. The tea service sold out within 10 minutes. Why? Because the price is the same as it was when the hotel first opened its doors in 1865 -- one shilling and six pence, or 15 cents.

The Langham, Chicago has just announced that it will be accepting reservations for July’s Nickel and Dime Anniversary Tea on Friday, July 18 for tea service on Thursday, July 24 in the hotel’s Pavilion Lounge, with seatings available at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Similar to Langham’s standard Tiffin Tea Service, the Nickel and Dime Anniversary Tea service includes exclusive Langham teas and an array of sweet and savory bites created by Pastry Chef Scott Green. For those looking to sip tea in proper English elegance, Goorin Bros. will also be on-hand with a display of women’s and men's hats that guests can purchase.

If you want a chance to secure a much-sought-after reservation, follow the Langham’s social media channels (Instagram; Twitter, and Facebook) on Friday, July 18, when, at an undisclosed time, the hotel will announce that it has officially begun accepting reservations by phone. Only 40 seats are available, and only four seats are allowed per reservation.
