Summercamp, a boutique hotel in Martha's Vineyard, exemplifies the best part of summer as a kid — but can be experienced here at any age. The property recently received a massive overhaul resulting in a super stylish destination that offers tons of fun.
The Look of Summercamp
What was once the historic Wesley Hotel is now the fun and freshly renovated Summercamp, a property that offers all guests the ability to relive the days of childhood fun. Summercamp calls itself a reflection of the Methodist summer camps of today that evolved from that Camp Meeting tradition and "a place to gather, learn, play, refresh, and reconnect." The hotel lies against a blue harbor, smack in the middle of town, and is the largest ocean-front property on the island.
Don't come expecting rustic cabins without air-conditioning or modern amenities. Summercamp is bright and colorful with pops of blue, seafoam, and orange. Rooms feature expansive porches and balconies with harbor views and rocking chairs. The hotel's interior designer, Rachel Reider, and her team worked to create a space that evokes the simple joy of New England summers with vintage games and whimsical fabrics.
The Vibe at Summercamp
The vibe is laid back — you're on an island after all — but energetic with a game room, a camp canteen, and plenty of sports and activities. And while the vibe is a lot of fun, adult amenities are abundant, from in-room robes and high-end bedding to an on-site oyster bar and brewpub.
Who Will Love Summercamp
Pretty much everyone in the entire family will love Summercamp. There's some serious nostalgia for adults and loads of activities for kids.
Who Might Not Love Summercamp
