From being home to some of the best sports teams in the country to boasting an incredible arts scene, Dallas is a lively destination in the Lone Star State that we keep coming back to. If you’ve got a trip here on the books, consider staying at The Joule, a trendy luxury hotel that has everything you could want in a city escape. Read our full review of the boutique property below.

What You Need to Know

The Look of The Joule

It's All in the Details

The Joule is housed in a 1920s Neo-Gothic bank building that beautifully mixes historical details of the original building (like marble flooring, elevators, and staircases) with contemporary design. Around the hotel, you’ll find incredible works by famous artists like Andy Warhol, opulent gold accents, and original bank fixtures like two enormous gear wheels at the center of the lobby.

The hotel’s glass-bottom, cantilevered infinity pool is another talking point because it juts out from the side of the building so you can see the street down below. The pool area also features daybeds and loungers to enjoy on warm Texas afternoons.

The Joule is known for its food and drink options, which include CBD Provisions, a Texas-influenced farm-to-table brasserie that serves hefty steaks; Sassetta, a Southern Italian eatery with a beautiful patio and delicious housemade pasta and pizza; Midnight Rambler, a hip underground cocktail bar; and Weekend Coffee, which offers gourmet pastries like cruffins and croissants.

Rooms are on the small side but packed with style — plus, no two are the same. Decidedly sleek and modern, they feature jewel-tone color palettes alongside dark woods and lots of steel and glass. Larger groups will love the penthouses that are up to 2,500 square feet in size and have full kitchens and entertaining spaces, two bedrooms on separate levels, and wraparound balconies.

The Vibe at The Joule

The vibe here is low-key and relaxed, with an undercurrent of feeling like you’ve been let in on a super cool secret.
