What You Need to Know

The Look of Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

It's All in the Details

Housed in historic 19th-century buildings, Virgin Hotels Edinburgh perfectly blends old and new. All around the hotel artwork from local artists showcases Scotland and its people. The Commons Club, the hotel brand’s signature restaurant, is the ideal spot for a well-crafted cocktail in a beautiful setting. The historic cupola of the Oculus Lounge is worth gazing up at for a few minutes too.

The rooms, called chambers, and suites feature Victorian-era details and a neutral color palette (with pops of Virgin's signature red, of course). Each standard chamber has two distinct spaces: The Dressing Room features a vanity, closet, makeup desk, and an extra-large shower.  The Lounge section of the room has a bed, a red SMEG mini-fridge, a TV, and plenty of outlets to charge all of your devices. Castle-view suites overlooking Edinburgh Castle promise an unforgettable stay, and family suites help take a load off those traveling with kids. The coolest room, however, is probably the Eve Branson Suite, named after Sir Richard’s mother and situated in the bell tower of the medieval Greyfriars Hall.

The Vibe at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

Historic charm with all of the party vibes the Virgin brand is famous for might be the best way to describe the hotel, which is known for its ample lineup of live entertainment that features local artists and musicians (events often go into the wee hours of the morning). And when it’s time to wind down and enjoy something a little more chill, afternoon tea on the weekends always hits the mark.
