Looking to get a bit more out of your next trip while doing some good at the same time? In continuing their commitment to supporting local communities and the environment, two of Six Senses’ Maldives resorts – Soneva Gili and Soneva Fushi – will offer guests a chance to give back during their stay with the Eco Season package. Volunteering options range from planting trees to speaking with local schoolchildren about waste management and Western culture to assisting with coral reef preservation. The best part: By committing to five hours of volunteering a day for the first five days of a vacation, guests booking a 10-night stay will only pay for five.
After doing your good deeds for the day, bed down in the luxurious accommodations of the Soneva resorts. At Soneva Fushi, located on a private island, each room and villa opens onto the beach, while the over-water villas of Soneva Gili are connected via jetties to an island in a lagoon situated 20 minutes by boat from the Maldives capital of Male’. Each resort promises a host of amenities and activities like yoga and tai chi sessions, full spa services, and snorkeling and other water sports.
The Eco Season package applies to 10 consecutive nights booked at either Soneva Gili or Soneva Fushi, or a combination of the two, between June 1 and October 12. The only requirement is that guests commit to five hours of volunteering at the resort during each of the first five days of their stay. Rates start at $535/night at Soneva Fushi and $1,040/night at Soneva Gili; the package is based on these rack rates. To book, call 800-591-7480 or visit sixsenses.com.
