Why We Love JFK’s New Air France Lounge

New York City's JFK Airport just received a major upgrade -- for some travelers flying Air France, anyway. The airline's new lounge, fully renovated in Terminal 1, is reserved for customers flying in first and business classes as well as for Flying Blue Elite Plus members. And it's arguably one of the chicest ways to relax and unwind prior to takeoff these days. Here's what we love.

1. The lounge is equipped with a Clarins well-being area, boasting two treatment rooms where customers can receive complimentary 20-minute facials. Ladies might enjoy a “youth activator” facial with cangzhu extract, and gentlemen can opt for an “anti-jet lag" facial with ginseng extract -- all formulated exclusively with Clarins products.

2. Two buffets featuring upscale hot and cold French and international cuisine grace the lounge menu. Think: steaming soups, seafood, French cheeses, and even champagne.

3. Those flying La Première, the airline’s version of first class, receive a personalized welcome upon arrival to JFK, are whisked though security, and are accompanied to the VIP area of the lounge.

4. The design is chic and comfortable. Formally the home of the Concord lounge, this newly minted is light and airy, with the signature Air France red pop of color throughout. A spacious mezzanine offers views of the runway.
