Paul Gauguin Cruises to Add Second Pacific Ship

Being a newcomer to the industry, Paul Gauguin Cruises is wasting no time playing catch up. This Tahiti-based cruise line, which currently operates a single 332-passenger ship, has announced plans to launch a second, smaller vessel. The new ship may offer shorter, 4-day cruises (and 4-day hotel packages) to complement the current 7- to 14-day itineraries aboard the ms Paul Gauguin. Although the cruise line debuted just this past January, the current ship is no stranger to the waters of French Polynesia. Paul Gauguin originally set sail under the veteran luxury line, Regent Seven Seas, and was specifically designed to navigate the shallow waters surrounding Tahiti. There’s no word yet on where the new ship may come from or when it will debut, but stay tuned for updates.
