Majestic Princess

Our Ship Review

Since joining her older Royal-class sisters Royal Princess and Regal Princess in 2017, Majestic Princess has reigned over several corners of the Pacific, initially offering itineraries in Asia (she was designed for the Chinese market and sailed there and Australia and New Zealand after her debut) before moving to the Pacific Coast and Alaska in 2022. Touches of Asian influence remain in the décor and the restaurant lineup is certain to satisfy cruisers who love Chinese cuisine, from noodles and dim sum to elevated Cantonese. Other highlights include the glittering Piazza — the social heart of this 3,560-guest ship — and the Lotus Spa with its soothing Enclave thermal suite. Majestic Princess offers a less frenetic ambiance than many large ships, making it a great choice for travelers looking to avoid an amusement park-like vibe.

What We Love

The Ship’s Culinary Chops: From something as simple as flavorful soups and stir-fry at Chopsticks Noodle Bar to a multi-course wine-paired dinner at Chef’s Table Lumiere, Majestic Princess offers well-executed culinary options for all tastes and appetites. There are three traditional dining rooms (Symphony, Concerto, and Allegro), but this ship also has multiple specialty restaurants, including classic steakhouse fare at Crown Grill, modern seafood specialties in The Catch by Rudi (helmed by Rudi Sodamin, the cruise line’s head of culinary arts) and classic Chinese dishes by Michelin-starred Chef Richard Chen in Harmony. And yes, you can enjoy a yummy made-to-order pizza at Alfredo’s.

Al Fresco Bars: When cruising in warmer climates, nothing beats cocktails at an outdoor bar—and Majestic Princess has two terrific ones on its Lido Deck: the SeaView Bar, set over glass panels for daring views of the waves 128 feet below, and the Wake View Bar, located aft and featuring comfy seating to enjoy the sunset or sail away.

Hollywood Pool Club: Even when the weather doesn’t cooperate, passengers can enjoy a swim or a hot tub soak in this glamorous, glass-domed pool area lined with topiaries and featuring a sophisticated and inviting bar.

Best Known For

Movies Under the Stars: Grab some popcorn, claim a chaise and settle in around the Lido Deck Pool to enjoy a night at the movies. This Princess signature offering features everything from recent big-screen releases to classic favorites—and even live sporting events such as World Series and NFL Playoff games.

Discovery at SEA: Princess’ partnership with the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet provide plenty for younger cruisers to enjoy, both in onboard activities that combine learning and fun and in special Discovery at SEA shore excursions designed for families.

Who It's Best For

Families with Creative Tweens and Teens: There’s a focus on discovery and performance onboard Princess’s Royal-Class ships, which make them great for families of tweens and teens interested in science, music, and culture. In addition to Discovery at SEA, other family activities include a night of audience participation during a Princess Live! onboard television show (which airs in staterooms), “Deal or No Deal” game shows, and “The Voice of the Ocean” singing competitions. There’s on onboard arcade and Sports Central also offers basketball courts, a jogging track, and mini golf.

Couples Who Prefer Old-School Cruising: Princess isn’t as cutting-edge as its mega-ship competitors — Crooners, its piano bar, has a retro Sinatra-era vibe — so it’s rooted in a more traditional view of cruising that offers relaxation, entertainment, and social engagement.

Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

It’s a Big Ship Without Big Thrills: Sorry, adrenaline junkies — there’s not a single waterslide or zip line aboard this ship. And we bet that some of you, who love to relax without a constant soundtrack of screams, may actually find this appealing.
